An Interdisciplinary Approach for the Management of the Elderly Multimorbid Patient with Breast Cancer Therapy Induced Cardiac Toxicity

CARDIOCARE Workshop Highlights: Advancing Patient-Centered Care Through Innovation and Collaboration

Jun 3, 2026

On 28 May 2026, the CARDIOCARE consortium successfully hosted the CARDIOCARE Workshop at the Thon Hotel EU in Brussels, bringing together researchers, clinicians, healthcare professionals, policymakers, project partners, and stakeholders from across Europe.

The workshop provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and discussion on innovative approaches to improving care for elderly multimorbid patients facing breast cancer therapy-induced cardiac toxicity. Participants explored how interdisciplinary collaboration and AI-driven solutions can support more integrated, personalized, and effective healthcare.

Throughout the event, attendees had the opportunity to learn about:

  • Key achievements and results of the CARDIOCARE project
  • The role of artificial intelligence in integrated healthcare and clinical decision support
  • Innovative strategies for cardiovascular prevention and risk management
  • Opportunities for collaboration to improve patient outcomes across Europe

The presentations and discussions highlighted the importance of combining clinical expertise, technological innovation, and collaborative research to address the complex healthcare needs of vulnerable patient populations. The workshop also fostered meaningful dialogue among stakeholders, creating opportunities for future cooperation and knowledge sharing.

The CARDIOCARE consortium would like to extend its sincere gratitude to all speakers, presenters, participants, and partners whose contributions made the workshop a highly engaging and insightful event. Their expertise, commitment, and active participation were instrumental in the success of the workshop and in advancing the project’s vision for patient-centered care.

With the CARDIOCARE project entering its final month, the workshop provided an opportunity to reflect on its achievements and share key outcomes with the wider community. The project’s results and the collaborations established along the way will continue to inform future initiatives dedicated to advancing patient-centered care and improving outcomes for elderly multimorbid patients across Europe.

We thank everyone who joined us in Brussels and contributed to these important discussions.
