The CARDIOCARE consortium successfully presented its dedicated scientific session, “CARDIOCARE: AI-enabled Cardio-Oncology Pathway Across Ages,” during the ESC Cardio-Oncology 2026 Congress, held on 19 June 2026.
The symposium brought together leading clinicians, researchers, and digital health experts from across Europe to discuss how artificial intelligence can support personalised cardio-oncology care throughout the patient journey and across different age groups.
Chaired by Prof. Dimitrios Fotiadis (University of Ioannina, Greece) and Prof. Anastasia Constantinidou (Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center, Cyprus), the session featured presentations addressing key challenges and innovations in the field of cardio-oncology.
The symposium featured presentations addressing key challenges and opportunities in the prevention, monitoring, and management of cardiovascular complications associated with cancer and its treatment. Topics included the CARDIOCARE experience in elderly breast cancer patients, digital tools for risk stratification in cardio-oncology, and innovative AI-enabled approaches supporting cancer survivors.
The session also highlighted synergy between the CARDIOCARE and MAYA projects. Presentation from the MAYA consortium showcased the role of artificial intelligence in supporting adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer survivors, as well as personalised interventions designed to promote long-term health and wellbeing through the MAYA digital ecosystem.
The CARDIOCARE consortium thanks all speakers, chairs, and participants for contributing to a successful and engaging session and looks forward to continuing its work towards more personalised, accessible, and effective cardio-oncology care across Europe.
