An Interdisciplinary Approach for the Management of the Elderly Multimorbid Patient with Breast Cancer Therapy Induced Cardiac Toxicity

CARDIOCARE Dissemination Event

Nov 1, 2024

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, in partnership with EUROPA DONNA CYPRUS, held a special event on October 17, 2024 to disseminate findings and developments from the CARDIOCARE project. This initiative, titled “Research on Breast Cancer – CARDIOCARE,” highlighted the project’s ongoing commitment to supporting elderly breast cancer patients who face cardiac challenges as a result of their treatments.

The event showcased CARDIOCARE’s mission to address the critical issue of cardiotoxicity—a common side effect of cancer therapies that can severely impact heart health, especially in elderly patients with additional health conditions. Through expert presentations and interactive discussions, attendees gained valuable insights into the research approaches and interdisciplinary solutions CARDIOCARE is developing to improve patient heart health and overall quality of life. This includes exploring methods for early detection, personalized care plans, and strategies for comprehensive support that align with the unique needs of these patients.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all attendees, especially the oncologists, medical staff from the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, and our collaborators, whose dedication and expertise drive this project forward. Your presence and contributions are instrumental in shaping a future where breast cancer care includes proactive, heart-healthy approaches to patient management.

The agenda of the event can be found here (in Greek).
